Abstract:
In this talk, Dr. Liu is to share his extensive research and graduate supervision experience, covering a wide spectrum of topics on research skills and techniques, as well as personal principles, making goals, time management, etc.
Biography:
Guangjun Liu is currently a Professor and Canada Research Chair in Control Systems and Robotics at the Department of Aerospace Engineering of Ryerson University. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Toronto in 1996. Before becoming a faculty member in 1999, he worked as a systems engineer and design lead for Honeywell Aerospace Canada on the Boeing X-32 program. He was a postdoctoral fellow with Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA, in 1996 before he joined Honeywell in 1997. Dr. Liu has authored or co-authored more than 150 papers in international journals and conference proceedings. Dr. Liu’s current research interests are in the areas of control systems, robotics and aircraft systems. Dr. Liu is currently serving as a technical editor for the IEEE/ASME Transactions on Mechatronics and a member of the editorial board of Robotica, and he is a licensed professional engineer of Ontario, Canada.
