From July 22 to 24, 32 Chinese and foreign students and teachers from the "Exploring Qinghai&Gansu with Beidou Technology" Practice Camp of Shanghai Jiao Tong University set off for Lenghu Town, Qinghai Province to carry out scientific research.

On the afternoon of the 22nd, the practice camp arrived in Lenghu Town. The campers were divided into two teams to carry out surveying and social research work respectively. At the same time, the social investigation team conducted in-depth interviews with local residents, merchants and government staff in Lenghu Town. The campers learned about the current industrial economic development status of Lenghu Town, as well as the industrial distribution and development history of Lenghu Town.

On the morning of the 23rd, the practice camp came to the Lenghu Laboratory at the Lingke Space Launch Base. The primary and middle school students at the base were conducting the final test of the production of small recyclable rockets. The campers helped the children improve their rocket performance, popular science rocket composition and other knowledge, and then went to the launch pad for rocket launch.

On the afternoon of the 23rd, the practice camp drove to the Mars camp which lays 87 kilometers away from Lenghu Town to carry out more scientific research experiments. Members of the mapping team carried out UAV surveying in the Yardang landform area and three-dimensional reconstruction of the local topography and landforms, which helped the Oborliang scenic spot in environmental protection and terrain monitoring.

On the afternoon of the 24th, Shanghai Jiao Tong University held the unveiling ceremony of the social practice base at the Mars camp.

Afterwards, the teachers and students of the practice camp went on foot to the Oborliang Scenic Area, the RTK test team and the drone surveying and mapping team conducted tests and verifications in the scenic area.

In this global challenge project, the students of Shanghai Jiao Tong University had a more systematic understanding of geology and geomorphology based on Beidou detecting technology in the northwest uninhabited area. Through front-line scientific work and research visits, the campers learned more about China in practice, and strengthened their determination to face difficulties and serve the country in the aviation industry.
