Outstanding graduate | Zhuang Hongji: Always live up to dreams and youth

A Connection with Aerospace, Picking Up a Dream

    My childhood dreams or aspirations for the future made me choose the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics Aerospace after the National College Entrance Examination. I was hesitant and torn at first, but after taking Mr Liu Hong's course "Introduction to Aerospace", I was convinced that I wanted to pursue a career in aerospace. Both aviation and aerospace made me feel the profound value and extraordinary significance of the work I would be doing in the future. I am even more determined to choose the aerospace path and embark on my own journey of discovery.

Studying at the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics Aerospace, Being Practical and Working Hard

    I realized that at university no one would supervise me to understand the points of my course or to pass the exams of my course. It was all up to me and I had to take responsibility for myself. I started to work hard on my university courses and understand every point on my own. By the second semester of my freshman year, I was ranked first in my major in terms of overall credits and GPA. Now towards the end of my senior year, I am still at the top of my major. Since my sophomore year, I have been involved in research in the college's pneumatics group. After a semester and winter break of literature accumulation, as well as the patient guidance of my teachers and seniors, my initial confusion gradually dissipated and I was no longer at a loss for literature.

Exploring and Enjoying Research

    With the help of my seniors, I also started to experiment with simulations. Once I had accumulated the literature and mastered the simulation methods, I was able to carry out some research tasks independently. I gained confidence in myself and experienced the joy of research. After half a year of exploration and with the help of my teachers and seniors, I have completed an innovative work. At the same time, I summarized it into a conference paper and an SCI paper as well as had them successfully published.

Enrichment and Overall Improvement

    In addition to my studies and research, I am involved in many societies and volunteer activities, and I often attend lectures held by the university. Compared to my youthful self four years ago, I feel that I have grown not only in terms of professional knowledge but also in terms of maturity in all aspects during my four years at university. These extra-curricular activities have been the best catalyst for me to enrich myself and improve my overall performance. As I enjoy my extra-curricular activities, I will meet the challenges ahead with a more positive and optimistic attitude.
