School of Aeronautics and Astronautics organized entrance education for students of grade 2022

On the afternoon of September 28, the entrance education for the 2022 students of the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics was successfully held. This entrance education was held through an online conference. Ms. Cui Ying from the Subject Service Department of the Library, Ms. Wang Jinglin, Mr. Xu Yongjian, and Ms. Gao Jin, the ideological and political teachers from the Student Affairs Office, Ms. Gao Shan from the International Office, the Presidium of the Graduate Student Union and all the 2022 freshmen attended this meeting. The conference mainly introduced library collection resources and services, college Youth League Committee work, Party building work, affairs work and internationalization work.

Ms. Cui Ying from the Subject Service Department of the Library briefly introduced the relevant information of the school library, helped students to understand how to make full use of the rich collections of the school library from the aspects of literature retrieval, book borrowing, database use and so on. She encouraged students to stand on the broad platform of the library, to help their own learning and research progress. She wished that "the library of Jiao Tong University will always accompany you to grow up".

Ms. Gao Jin, deputy secretary of the Youth League Committee of the School, introduced the basic information of scholarship application. She let the students know the conditions and procedures of scholarship application from three aspects: scholarship classification, selection rules and previous years.

In addition, Ms. Gao showed how the college carried out the work of league learning from the aspects of student training and industry practice, and illustrated the three stages of the college's training of students: the "grouting period" for cultivating ambition and interest in space, the "growth period" for teaching ideology and theory, and the "employment period" for strengthening employment guidance. In addition, typical industrial practice examples such as "Pursuing Dream Aerospace" practice group, Siyuan Student Satellite Team, and "Beidou Exploration Qinggan" were used to show students the concept of practical education of the college.

Wu Hongzhi, Pang Yanshuai and Xing Ze, presidium of the Graduate Student Union of the School, presented the organizational structure of the union to everyone. They respectively introduced the Academic Department, the Liaison Department, the Publicity Department and the Culture and Sports Department's work content and characteristic activities. Wu Hongzhi encouraged like-minded students to actively join the graduate Union, carry forward the dedication of serving the school and students, and jointly build a better future for the school.

Mr. Xu Yongjian, who is in charge of the Party building work and graduate students, explained the Party building work of the school in detail, and explained the working process of developing Party members. He introduced the colorful Party building activities of the school, and encouraged like-minded students to join the Party organization and submit the application for Party membership at any time.

Then, Mr. Xu introduced the student affairs of the college, from five aspects: study style construction, difficulty identification, financial aid, student loans, medical insurance and so on, each of which is closely related to students' study and life.

Ms. Wang Jinglin, director of the Student Affairs Office and graduate students, demonstrated the educational achievements of the school in terms of employment. Starting from the employment trend of previous graduates, she introduced the efforts made by the school in developing ideological education, cultivating industry feelings, leading scientific research projects, strengthening practical practice and other aspects. She encouraged students to make their own career choices based on student employment models.

At the end of the meeting, Ms. Gao Shan from the International Office of the School introduced the Sino-foreign joint education program of the school, and explained the related issues of overseas study visits, international exchanges and international conferences. She explained the application of grant from China Scholarship Council and the approval process of entry and exit, then answered the confusion of students with overseas study plans.

The enrollment education for grade 2022 was successfully held, providing guidance for students to adapt to campus life smoothly. School and college provide students with all kinds of convenience on the way to study, hope that freshmen can live up to their youth, be brave, pursue their dreams, and constantly break through themselves in the new stage of life.
