School of Aeronautics and Astronautics held the pre-trip training meeting for 2021 SJTU-MAI master's degree flight to Russia

On October 12, 2022, the pre-flight training meeting for the 2021 SJTU-MAI master's degree flight to Russia of the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics was held online. Wu Shufan, the executive vice president of the school, Lu Bei, the vice president, Fan Yin, Xu Yongjian, Fu Liping from the Information Security Management Office of the school and all the 2021 SJTU-MAI master students attended this meeting. The conference was presided over by Gao Shan from the International Office of the School.

First of all, Dean Wu delivered a speech to the students. He congratulated the students on their upcoming study in Russia. At the same time, he said that the university and college attached great importance to the arrangement of students' study abroad and would do their best to protect the students. Dean Wu made three expectations for the students: Pay attention to image, strive to be cultural ambassadors; Don't forget the original intention, seriously absorb knowledge; Improve the pattern, enrich life experience. Finally, Dean Wu wished the students a successful study and a safe return.

Then, the deputy dean Lu Bei put forward several requirements for students' study and emphasized that the purpose of studying abroad by government is to learn advanced technical knowledge from foreign countries. We should keep our original aspiration and work hard to successfully complete the training and learning plan in Russia. At the same time, we should keep in touch with the domestic research group to successfully complete the domestic research, and lay a good foundation for the successful completion of the graduation thesis.

In this lecture, Fu Liping from the Information Security Management Office of the school was specially invited to explain the preparation before the trip in detail. She introduced the website of the Moscow Consulate and other information. She also explained some news related to overseas students in recent years. She urged students to follow the example of Hou Shaoqiu, the first CPC martyr from Jiao Tong University, and Huang Xuhua, the father of China's nuclear submarine and alumnus, to inherit the loyalty of keeping state secrets.

Mr. Hui emphasized discipline requirements and safety tips. He explained the daily management rules, dormitory management rules, negative behavior list and other aspects in detail. He also introduced the different psychological stages of studying abroad, encouragd students to look at cultural differences correctly and maintain reasonable psychological expectations. Finally, Mr. Xu also emphasized the safety of studying abroad, and provided students with many practical suggestions from the aspects of physical and mental safety, property safety, travel safety, interpersonal safety and so on.

Finally, the head teacher Fan Yin introduced some matters needing attention in the life of studying abroad with his own personal experience. He introduced the possible difficulties in study and psychology, and encouraged the students to overcome them bravely. At the same time, he put forward two ardent hopes for the students: he hoped that the students could improve their independent living ability and independent scientific research ability through this study. Finally, he wished the students could leave a good memory for their lives while studying in Russia.

Through this pre-trip meeting, the students gained a lot. They also had a better understanding of the life of studying abroad and were mentally prepared for the challenges they may encounter in advance. With teachers' earnest instruction and earnest encouragement, as well as the strong backing of Jiaotong University and the motherland, students were full of confidence in the unknown life of studying abroad. They looked forward to returning to contribute to the aerospace industry of the motherland.
