School of Aeronautics and Astronautics organized Chinese and Russian teachers and students to participate in the 2022 Water Sports Meeting for New Graduate students and the 8th Quality Development activity of the Postgraduate Guiding team

On Nov 6, the 2022 Shanghai Jiao Tong University Graduate Student Water Sports Meeting and the 8th Graduate Student Guidance Team quality Development activity was held in the Water Sports on Minhang Campus. Professor Fan Yin from School of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Teacher Xu Yongjian from Academic Affairs Office, Gao Shan from International Affairs Office, 9 Chinese students and 9 Russian students participated in this activity.

This competition is rich and diverse in form. The competition includes team dragon boat races, as well as men's, women's and co-ed canoeing events. This activity is guided by the academic Steering Committee and the Sports Department. The activity is sponsored by the School Student Federation and the Sports Federation, and organized by the Dragon Boat Association and the Rowing Association. A total of 24 teams from different departments and nearly 500 teachers and students participated in the competition.

After fierce competition, the Chinese and Russian teachers and students team of the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics won the third place in the "Dragon Boat Race". Two students, DANILISHIN DENIS and ALEKSANDR BIISOV, won the champion and the third place of "Kayak Men's Single Competition" respectively.

The year 2022-2023 is the year of China-Russia Sports Exchange, which is the eighth national-level themed exchange year between China and Russia. We will also take this opportunity to encourage Chinese and Russian students to cooperate and compete together, so that sports exchanges can become a bridge to enhance the friendship between Chinese and Russian students.
