The School of Aeronautics and Astronautics organized Chinese and Russian students to visit and study in COMAC

On November 23, 2022, the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics launched an educational practice activity about the flight industry. The practice group visited and studied in Shanghai Aircraft Design and Research Institute and Shanghai Aircraft Customer Service. A total of 35 students from Russia and China participated in the event. Zhang Xiao, deputy general manager of CRAIC, Fedor Shumskiy, chief expert Alena Gritsevich accompanied and made a presentation.

The delegation arrived at the Customer Selection Center of Shanghai Aircraft Design and Research Institute in the morning. They visited model segments of the ARJ21, C919 and CR929. The staff of the selection center introduced the development history of the center and the development and production progress of domestic aircraft in detail for the students.He let the students board the cabin for on-site experience. Later, the students watched the documentary of the first flight of the C919 in the multi-function selection area and felt the excitement of the "big aircraft man" in the successful maiden flight of the domestic big aircraft.

The second stop of the practice was the Aircraft Operation Support Command Center of Shanghai Aircraft Customer Service Company. The center staff led the students into the operation support command hall. A large screen at the center displays multi-source information such as fleet information, flight plans, real-time flight parameters of operating aircraft and historical fault alarms. The students actively interacted with the engineer, who patiently answered the question.

In the afternoon of the same day, they listened to the lecture delivered by Mr. Fedor, Deputy General manager of China-Russia International Commercial Aircraft Corporation in the lecture hall on the first floor of the college. The report introduces the development background and parameters of CR929 aircraft, as well as CRAIC's corporate history, organizational structure and corporate mission. The introduction and exchange lecture was a perfect ending for this practice.

This practice deepened the students' understanding of COMAC. This event made everyone more deeply understand the far-reaching significance of participating in the China-Russia cooperative large aircraft development project, and strengthened the belief in the great mission of the aerospace industry.
