On March 17, the national final of the 13th "Challenge Cup" National College Student Business Plan Competition was held in Beijing. After a fierce competition, the project "Small Satellite, Big Future - Making Satellite No Longer Far Away from Primary and Secondary Schools" from the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics of Shanghai Jiao Tong University won the national gold medal, refreshing the historical record of the school in the competition.
The project was led by Professor Wu Shufan of the college as the guiding expert, and Wu Yuedong, a doctoral candidate at 2021 level, served as the student leader. Mao Shiping, Zhou Hang, Cao Xin, Wen Jifan, Duan Yuxiao, and other graduate students completed the project together.
Starting from the development experience of the first student satellite "SJTU Siyuan 1" at Shanghai Jiaotong University, the team directly attacked the pain points of aerospace STEAM education in the market, extensively investigated the user market, and actively explored business models. Based on the characteristics of primary and secondary school users, the team has made detailed product design and planning, involving three major parts: hardware, curriculum, and research. It has created three core aerospace STEAM education products by layer and classification, maximizing the engineering technology and thinking required in the satellite research and development process. The team hopes to plant a seed of aerospace for each child through the popularization of professional aerospace education.
School of Aeronautics and Astronautics will take the "Challenge Cup" as a new starting point, cultivate an innovative culture, create an innovative atmosphere, and actively encourage spaceflight students to bravely climb the peak of scientific and technological innovation to create outstanding achievements!
