Published:2023-11-22

In the recently concluded 2023 "Zhi-Xing Cup" Shanghai university social practice competition, Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) students achieved outstanding results.  The university distinguished itself with a total of 10 awards, including 3 top prizes, solidifying its leadership for the fourth consecutive year.  Among these, the "BeiDou Exploration in Qinghai and Gansu" project stood out for its innovative approach and significant impact.

This project, led by an enthusiastic team of SAA students, concentrated on leveraging the BeiDou Navigation Satellite System for search and rescue operations in the uninhabited regions of Western China.  Over a span of three years, the team ventured into remote areas of Qinghai and Gansu to explore the practical applications of BeiDou in national and public security domains.  Their research focused on the current state of satellite navigation industry in these critical areas, particularly examining the "BeiDou+" and "+BeiDou" models and business patterns.

The students' methodology involved in-depth investigation, rigorous research, practical testing, and constructive proposals.  Their work not only provided valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities facing the BeiDou system but also demonstrated how academic knowledge could be applied to real-world problems.  Their contributions extend beyond technological innovation, nurturing a deep sense of national commitment and progressiveness among the team members.
