On December 12, the 13th "Kaiyuan" Top Ten Teachers Review Conference of Shanghai Jiao Tong University was successfully held in the Chen Ruiqiu Building, Minhang Campus. Xu Wu, a teacher from the Department of Aircraft Design at the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics, was honored with the "Kaiyuan" Top Ten Teachers title.
Xu Wu, an associate professor on long-term appointment at the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, has long been focusing on key scientific and technological issues related to structural damage tolerance analysis and design of aircraft. He has led 18 projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation project and sub-projects of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's civilian aircraft program. He has published over 60 SCI/EI papers, authored two books in Chinese and English, which received funding from the National Publishing Foundation and the Silk Road Book Project. In teaching, he teaches undergraduate "Solid Mechanics and Structures" and graduate "Solid Mechanics" (in English), and jointly with COMAC, offers the graduate course "Civil Aircraft Body Design and Verification". He has received honors like the Shanghai Youth Science and Technology Sail Plan, the Shanghai Municipal First Prize for Teaching Achievements, the Candlelight Award, and the Second Prize in the University's Young Teacher Teaching Competition.
