On 10 January, a delegation of teachers from Moscow Aviation Institute (MAI) came to the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics to observe the graduation defence of the Master's Degree Programme "SJTU - MAI" of 2021 class. A total of 15 Russian students from three directions, PLM, Engine, PCM, participated in the dissertation defence.

The defence focuses on the quality of writing, practice and application, oral expression and other aspects of the quality of the students, through the individual report and Q&A sessions, the students fully demonstrated the solid professional quality and excellent engineering ability.
On 11 January, teachers from MAI met with Russian students in A229 of the SAA, and Natalia Odintsova and Anna Katkina from the International Education Project Department had a talk with the students and held a class meeting.
During the meeting, Russian students shared their achievements during their study in SJTU and expressed their gratitude to SJTU and the SAA for their care for Russian students. Natalia Odintsova was pleased with the achievements of the students and was looking forward to their future.
Under the background of the national strategy of "Belt and Road" and China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership, SJTU and MAI have been cooperating deeply, reforming and innovating the talent cultivation mode, and pushing forward the dual-degree programme of SJTU and MAI. At 2024, the dual-degree programme has entered into the 8th year of cooperation, and both sides will continue to cultivate talents with "global vision and national sentiment", and contributing to the aerospace science and technology of the two countries.
