Students from our school won the best contestant in the Changsha Division of the first Aerospace Doctoral Competition and advanced to the national finals

On January 14, the first Aerospace Doctoral Competition semi-finals (Changsha Division) officially started. Two doctoral students, Fan Xitong and Deng Hefang, from the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, stood out in the fierce competition and won the "Best Player" in the competition area respectively, and successfully advanced to the national finals.

The first Air and Space Doctoral Competition is guided by the Chinese Society of Aeronautics and Astronautics, hosted by Journal of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and hosted by Beijing Journal of Aeronautics and Astronautics Culture Media Co., Ltd. It aims to encourage doctoral students in the field of aerospace and aviation to strengthen academic exchanges, share outstanding scientific research results, and stimulate creativity and cohesion. Guide doctoral students to develop in an all-round way. The competition is divided into preliminary rounds, semi-finals, and finals. It mainly examines the doctoral students' core research results, scientific research innovation breakthroughs, achievement transformation and engineering application prospects, and personal style.

This competition attracted more than 200 doctoral students from across the country to sign up. After evaluation by the competition organizing committee and review experts, a total of 60 outstanding doctoral students demonstrated the strength of young scientific research in the aerospace field and successfully advanced to the semi-finals.

The semi-finals are divided into 4 competition areas. This time, Fan Xitong and Deng Hefang participated in the Changsha competition area semi-finals. There were 16 contestants from universities and research institutes such as Harbin Institute of Technology, National University of Defense Technology, Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, China Pneumatic Center, academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Professor Xiang Jinwu of Beihang University serves as the leader of the expert jury, and senior experts from Sichuan University, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, National University of Defense Technology, and Sun Yat-sen University serve as judges. The contestants performed a 7-minute PPT presentation in the order of the draw. After fierce competition and on-site scoring by the jury, 4 contestants finally advanced to the national finals. Doctoral students from our school occupied half of the places and won the "Best Player" in the competition area.

It is reported that the national finals will be held at the first Air and Space Frontier Conference in April this year. The best player award, outstanding player award and outstanding mentor award will also be awarded. Let us wait and see, and wish Fan Yutong and Deng Hefang good results in the competition and show the outstanding style and youthful strength of the Aerospace Students of Jiaotong University!
