Published:2024-05-11

When Chen Quan was young, he aspired to dedicate himself to his country's air and space career, and he pursued and realized his dream of going into space with his firm will and unremitting efforts. He elaborated on the strict selection and arduous training that an astronaut must undergo, and pointed out that the training of astronauts not only requires individuals to have a firm will and a strong physique, but also a solid theoretical foundation and excellent practical skills. Chen Quan mentioned that astronauts need to undergo long-term space environment adaptation training, master wilderness survival skills, and even be able to perform space surgeries through remote guidance in case of emergency, all of which are severe tests of astronauts' comprehensive qualities.

Chen Quan's report is a profound education for young students, letting the teachers and students present deeply feel the hardship of the heroic cause of spaceflight, and also letting everyone cherish and be more proud of the brilliant achievements of the motherland's spaceflight industry. After the report, the students asked questions and the atmosphere was warm. Chen Quan replied that he hoped students could always carry forward the manned spaceflight spirit of “special hardship, special combat, special research, special dedication” in their future study and work, and that every young person should take love for the motherland, care for the motherland, build the motherland, defend the motherland as their own responsibility, closely integrate their personal dreams with the development of the country, and contribute to the realization of the greatness of the Chinese nation. Every young person should be responsible for loving the motherland, caring for the motherland, building the motherland and defending the motherland, and should combine their personal dreams with the development of the country, so as to contribute to the realization of the Chinese dream of the great revival of the Chinese nation.

Great endeavors begin with dreams. Chen Quan's words inspired every listener to be firm in their ideals and beliefs, to bear the responsibilities of the times, to achieve their personal dreams in their successive struggles in the future journey with the vision of a starry sea and the mindset of a thousand ravines, and to contribute their youthful strength to the motherland's aerospace industry.

In recent years, the SAA has been tightly focusing on the fundamental task of establishing moral character, facing the major strategic needs of the national aerospace industry, giving full play to the functions of the main body of nurturing people inside and outside of the campus, and creating a cultural atmosphere of “Serving the Country with the Aerospace and Astronautics” throughout the process of cultivating talents in the new era.

On the occasion of the 9th “Space Day of China”, the SAA will continue to carry out a series of activities with distinctive themes and in various forms to help the majority of students gain an in-depth understanding of the development of the aerospace industry and the cutting-edge dynamics, to further stimulate the enthusiasm and aspiration for the aerospace industry, to strengthen the ideals and beliefs, and to bear the responsibilities of the times. The Academy will join hands with teachers and students to contribute wisdom and strength to the realization of the Chinese dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and write a brand-new chapter of the aerospace industry together.
